A guide from the technicians at Joseph Heating & Cooling.

Before a storm, turn the system off at the thermostat and breaker if flooding or power surges are likely. Do not cover the outdoor unit with plastic, which traps moisture.
After the storm, wait before restarting. Have us inspect the system for water intrusion, debris and electrical damage, especially if it was flooded.
Consider a surge protector for your HVAC equipment and ask about our pre-season inspection.
Tell us what is going on and we will discuss service options. You receive a written quote before work begins.
